Starring: Ingrid Pitt, Nigel Green, Sandor Eles, Patience Collier, Lesley-Anne Down

~ Ingrid Pitt was a leading lady for many of the Hammer Films in the early 1970's.

Plot:

The aging Countess Elisabeth Nodosheen (Pitt) is a heartless woman in the medieval time period who cares nothing of her peasants well being that are in need of her help. The answer she provides is to spit at them and run them down as they equate her to "the devil woman" so not a friendly relationship.

The Countess along with her lover Dobi (Green) rule the land with an iron fist and cruelty. Upon getting ready for a bath a servant girl has the water too hot for the Countess who is very angry and cuts the young servant ladies face with blood falling upon the countesses cheek. When leaving the Countess calls over Dobi and her other maid and shows from what she sees in the mirror that the area with the young blood is gone young with youth. The countess demands the servant girl back and enters her room then the next day Dobi enters the main bedroom where the Countess looks stunning and in her young twenties again with a question: "where is the girl?" which never gets answered. All the countess knows is that she can dress youthful and be back to what she has been aching for which is her youthful beauty.

To be able to stay youthful and walk amongst everyone the Countess comes up with a story that her daughter finally came home to visit. The Countess now plays the role of the youthful daughter who gets reintroduced to Lt. Imre Toth (Eles) who she is very attracted to. The pair become a couple and start seeing one another against Dobi's annoyance. The problem that is found is that the youth is very temporary and the Countess wants more of the young blood to remain youthful forever which means locating another peasant. Julie (Collier) the countess nurse is in charge to find another and does so with a gypsy fortune teller and has her come up to tell a fortune and then kills her and takes her blood in order for the Countess to meet Toth for a horse ride into the coutryside. Ilona (Down) is her real daughter who was on her way home when her carriage was attacked and the young lady was kidnapped. The young lady finally escapes and gets back to her home to see a marriage unfolding by her mother who is thinking she will live forever young but now her actual daughter is there....what is going to happen and will the ageless countess stay forever young or be bound by her actual age and brutal killing??
