golden age classic stars. Not a lot of writing at all or tid bits or extras just
simply as it is stated, "in pictures!" Hope you all enjoy one of the original
actresses who defined style, poise, verstility on the silver screen Doris Day and her brilliance

Plot:
At the time this film was made Doris Day was top box office draw and was finally paired with Cary Grant to be a lovely pair of sophisticated actors together on screen to shine.
It is a rainy day and we see Cathy Timberlake (Day) down on her luck going to unemployment dealing a creep of clerk to get her weekly check, Cathy in the current state of things has had a very hard time locating a new job so collecting unemployment is saving her until she can find an actual job. Good news. for Cathy is that shortly after leaving obtaining the check and getting an unsolicited date she has a job interview finally. On her way to get something to eat and the itnerview it is pouring rainn out in New York City. Waiting on a curb to cross Cathy's gets splashed by this Rolls Royce who does not stop and keeps on going to see if she is alright. The passanger in this vehicle who is thoughtless is non other than wealthy Phillip (Grant) who has no time for anything and just keeps going to his company's headquarter's which is a highrise of it's own.
Cathy is now depressed that is lovely dress has mud and is now dirty for her interview and heads to the restaurant where her friend/and best gal pal who share the same apartment to save money Connie Emerson (Meadows) works. Cathy puts a few coins in to obtain s salad and then gets her friend Connie's attention and tells her the scoop of what just happened to her from unemployment to getting dirty outside. Connie gives her friend a few other dishes to sit and have a godo meal for free and to possibly as a joke get fat and break out so men will leave her alone...it seems the blonde beauty Cathy always gets bothered by men.
What Cathy and Connie do not know while they are talking is that Roger (Young), Phillip's right hand man for finance who was in the car for the horrible splashing see's Cathy enter the restaurant and insists that they make it right in case there are legal matters that may occur. Phillip agrees and tells Roger to take money to make things right and to head down to see the young lady. Roger runs down and enters into the restaurant and sees Cathy sitting down getting ready to eat and tells her who he is and who he represents....she of course gets angry and wants to see this Phillip and give him a piece of her mind. Roger loves the playboy that gets everything now get someone to apply and not fall for his money and everything invites her to do it right to him then and there. He takes her without eating right up and she leaves......Connie looks out and is stunned that yet again the poor Cathy is bothered by someone and can not even eat.
Upon entering the office Cathy is ready to give him it in both barrels but when Phillip enters his suave ways and smile makes Cathy melt. All the anger falls and she laughs and says it is her fault that she was not looking and to blame it on her. Phillip insists that she at least has to wait and allow him to take care of her dry cleaning for her interivew. She agrees and changes into an oversized shirt and waits for her clothing to come back but in the maentime calls her friend Connie to tell her what happened who is stunned and tells her to be careful. Then it has been awhile and Cathy enters into a meeting that Phillip is having and he has her stay for it.....Cathy comes up with an idea to actually see the person they are trying to do business with in person and not anyone else. Phillip loves it and takes her on his personal jett with him to Philadelphia and more. This scares Connie knowing the games that this man is up to.
Finally, Phillip after getting to know her invites Cathy to a vacation with him to Bermuda and she is stunned. She thinks this is a big step that they are now falling in love with one another and this is marriage since he is speaking of having her picking out an apartment in his newly exclusive developed highrise. Though that ends quick when Phillip states that he does not tend nor mean marriage at all which brings Cathy into a tail spind of now what to do.......Cathy heads home to her apartment and talks to Connie and is lost...should she go to Bermuda or not.....she is very torn. Cathy decides not to go is the best.
The next day in the morning Phillip is suppose to call and never does which aggrevates Cathy. Phillip s torn since he actually does not want her to go a lot since this is what he does often with his playboy ways and his usual girls that are not important for relationships. Roger loves seeing that his boss seems to be getting a heart and affection for Cathy. Cathy calls Phillip very angry of why he never called and to test each other they both finally decide to go on the vacation to Bermuda. A personal shopper is sent to bring Cathy to get the finest clothing and then they are set to the lovely island. Cathy looks beautiful and everything is set for the right moment except now anxiety sets in for her and she breaks out all over. The trip ends and they are not sure what is next.
The trip to Bermuda happens a second time due to Cathy' determination and this time she has a bit too much fun with alcohol and it very tipsy. So things went poorly and Cathy was done and they called it quits. A job came up for Cathy and things seem to move on ro did they....watch the film to find out!

Plot:
This first of Doris Day & Rock Hudson classics centers on Jan Morros (Day) a very independent and highly successful interior designer in New York City. Jan has a hillarious and often intoxicated housekeeper named Alma (Ritter) who questions just how happy and content the single Jan is alone without anyone by her side to love.
To her dismay Jan's phone company in the city is now having her use this new service called a party line which is a new development. Jan shares her party line with Brad Allen (Hudson) who is also a successful person as a Boradway composer and loves the ladies. Brad knows he wants a lady by his side but never a serious relationship and they change as his wardrobe does and he loves the bachelor way of different beauties all the time.
Quickly, Jan and Brad dislike each other and feud over the use of the party line. They have never met each other physically in person but hate one another on the phone since they are soo opposites which is very clear. Brad uses the phone line to chat to one young lady after another and sings to each a supposed original song for them. Jan can not believe what she hears on the other end and instantly hates everything that Brad is about to wranggle women in and the games he plays. Brad though thinks that Jan is simply jealous.
Currently, Jan's client is a millionaire named Jonathan Forbes (Randall) who is head over heels in love with her. Jonathan tries all things to show it but Jan is simply not noticiing and does not feel the attraction. What Jan also does not know is that Jonathan is also great friend's with Brad and went to college with him and is also working together to fund Brad's current Broadway project.
Brad finally meets Jan in person one evening at a nightclub and is smitten with her. A fake persona is created by Brad which is named Rex Stetson that comes along with a Texas accent and is a wealthy rancher. Jan is swept off her feet and the couple starts to see one another. Brad loves that Jan talks about Rex on the partyline to him and that she has found a true gentleman which he is not and he has to laugh. Jonathan is unhappy that the two have fallen in love since he wants Jan as well and sends Brad to Connecticut to his home to finish his songs and to get away from distractions. What Jonathan has no idea about is that Brad uses the opportunity to invite Jan to go with him away from NYC and she accepts. During the stay they are both happy together until Jan stumbles across sheet music that Brad wrote and left in the cabin. Jan looks at it and starts to play it on the piano and discovers the charade that is going on and storms out. Brad tries to explain the situation but Jan wants no part and then Jonathan shows up to reveal the game and takes Jan back to NYC.
Does Brad or Jonathan end up winning over the beautiful Jan at the end with maybe some help with her housekeeper Jan you will have to watch to find out!!!!!

Plot:
This widely successful musical film centers on the wild west gal Calamity Jane (Doris Day). In the true wild west in Deadwood, South Dakota the men are rough and the saloons are brash. One evening while Calamity is in the audience the area's saloon called the Golden Garter hires a new lady entertainer named Francis Fryer (Dick Wesson). Francis goes onto stage in drag to do the show and the saloon owner is misled with the look and name of Francis. Francis billed themselves that was misleading to the saloon and to the wild town.
Upon, finding out quickly that Francis was not a lady performer the men attending the saloon are displeased to say the least and are about to leave. Calamity steps up and decides she has a grand plan to save the saloon and the customers happiness which is to obtain the great entertainer named Adelaid Adams (Gale Robbins) who is at the moment in Chicago. To her delight the saloon and the cowboys in the saloon are both thrilled and stay for this headlining beauty to come. So now it is up to Calamity to offer her promise up on a silver platter.
Calamity contacts Adelaid and a note is sent back and she is never going to perform in such a wild and dangerous place such as Deadwood. Calamity is still determined that it is still not over and can get Adelaid into the saloon. Wild Bill Hickok (Howard Keel) thinks that this is such a joke of an idea and will never happen soo much that he states to Calamity that if she can get Adelaid he will in fact come on the opening night of her performance dressed-up as a Sioux squaw with a pappoose. Wild Bill has no faith of this ever changing.
From this Calamity is even more fueled up to make this truly happen and decides to travel to Chicago and meet in person Adelaid. The next part is a hillarious moment of mixups that occur where Calamity walks in and meets who she thinks is the great Adelaid who is singing one of her tunes and in one of her gowns. Though what is not known is that Adelaid's maid Katie Brown (Allyn McLerie) is in fact the person Calamity is meeting who has always dreamt of becoming a singer and the real Adelaid has gone immediately to start her touring in Europe. Katie decides to make her dreams come true and goes with the story that she is Adelaid and agrees to do the performances at the saloon and travel back with Calamity which makes her very happy! The travel back to Deadwood is very adventorous with Indians.
Upon getting to Deadwood on the opening night of the performance the sounds coming from Adelaid is not what they are expecting and then the truth wills itself out! Katie cries and tells Calamity and everyone the truth about the mix-up and what she has done to them. Calamity defends Katie and has her continue with her performance in the saloon which wins everyone over. Both Calamity and Katie become close friends. Calamity is smitten by Lieutenant Danny Gilmartin (Philip Carey) so to get his attention dresses and acts like a lady with the help of Katie. What we find out is that actually Wild Bill and Danny both like Katie. There is a local ball and the men draw straws to find out which one is going to with Katie and the other with Calamity and Danny ends up escourting Katie. The whole evening Calamity is very jealous seeing that Danny is getting closer to Katie and finally at the ball after dancing the kiss. Calamity draws a shot at the dance near Katie to say she is no longer friends and throws her stuff out of her cabin and threatens to shoot if she ever sees her again.
What will happen to the friends and the loves.....you will have to watch to find out! It is a great Warner Bros. musical with a perfect casting of Doris Day & Hoard Keel in the lead roles set with great tunes!
