In Memoriam: Matthew Perry
The talented actor Matthew Perry passed away today at the age of 54 years old in California.
He will always be remembered for his 10-year success as the hilarious Chandler Bing in the gold standard sitcom; Friends (1994 - 2004). I will always remember that he embodied whom Chandler was the comedian with one-liners. We got introduced to his mother played by actress Morgan Fairchild and his father played by the actress Kathleen Turner. Chandler married Monica after what I was thrilled to see as a tryst in London came to be a long-lasting marriage. Monica proposing to Chandler on her knee and dancing to Eric Clapton with the apartment lit by candles. What a classic comedy with the perfect cast where no one took top billing it was equal footing for all. This came to airtime, salary, and the casts being always locked step together. This series is very special to me where it chronicles my high school years in the 90s and entering my career. I was one of the fans that had to buy the cd of the theme song and re-watched the entire series as of recent at least twice.
His acting career is to also note went beyond Friends with motion pictures and series. Fools Rush In, Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip (which deserved to be on a lot longer), The Whole Nine Yards, The Ron Clark Story, Three To Tango, Serving Sara, The Whole Ten Yards, 17 Again, The Odd Couple and others starting in the 1980s.
